Unique Designs and Impeccable Quality

In this Product Gallery you will find items of unique design and impeccable quality. I utilize the finest hardwoods and sound joinery that will yield a beautiful finished product that will last for generations to come. Since wood is such a beautiful medium to work in, I allow it to take "center stage" in my designs, the natural richness and diversity of the grain is permitted to show through. Joinery is usually a visible and not hidden part of the design, utilizing contrasting woods to accentuate the design. Production runs on non-custom work is kept VERY small (usually less than 12 of a given item), there are several reasons for this and they all benefit the purchaser of fine crafts.

First, the lumber used on smaller runs is likely to be more consistent and easier to match, insuring a more balanced design.

Second, what better way for wood to take center stage than to have beautifully figured, albeit less plentiful, boards to work with. I'd prefer to work with the wood, perhaps alternating the design or dimensions to maximize its beauty rather than missing that opportunity for the sake of production.

And third, it is much easier, especially mentally, to control quality.  I'm a one-man shop and the thought of having to perform a singular, monotonous task for hundreds of like parts is quite daunting for me, smaller numbers equals higher quality.

Specially Designed Handles and Pulls with Brusso Hinges

On items such as jewelry boxes and cabinetry, I usually make my own handles and pulls, utilizing small unique pieces of wood, shaped to fit the hand or fingers. When hardware is purchased, I choose only the finest.  On the larger jewelry boxes, for example, I use Brusso hinges.  They're expensive, but they are the best available. On items such as clocks, only the highest quality quartz movements are used, economy versions are simply not considered.

Sanding and finishing is perhaps the most important aspect of quality, handcrafted work.  It is of great compliment to the visual component of design to feel the smoothness and rich depth of color that only finishing by hand can accomplish. I utilized both oil and lacquer finishes applied over an impeccably prepared surface.

Finally, and of no small concern, is the commitment and desire by me to provide my customers with the utmost in quality and service.  In today’s world, it is refreshing for me to have that privilege.
